Hydrangea not blooming!

Question

my pastachio hydrangea is not budding and some of the leaves have black around the edges.  What can I do?

Where is your plant planted??

Is it receiving enough water and fertilizer?

Have you recently cut it back???

Good Afternoon, I did some research and discovered that the timing of pruning hydrangeas has alot to do with their blooming, or not bloming. According to the first link below your particular type of hydrangea is a 'big leaf'/'mophead' hydrangea:

Being a big leaf hydrangea means it should be pruned right after flowering:

'... [the] hydrangeas [which are] are considered bigleaf or macrophylla hydrangeas, so they can be pruned right after flowering by cutting back the flowering shoots to the next bud. If you have older plants that aren’t blooming well, you can cut up to a third of the stems off at the base in late summer to encourage new growth. ...'
