I have a Christmas Cactus that is not doing well- any help?

What can I do to save it? I have used plant food and put it in the sun. But everything I have tried is not working. Please any help or advice will be appreciated.

Start off with repeating in fresh soil and do not over water. If it is breaking up into pieces plant them separately. I put mine out all summer and around Oct. bring them in and they are ready to flower.

Someone who owned a plant nursery once said that plants have several options, one of those is to die. Sometimes they exercise that option. Very hard to know why many times. I would move on with a new plant. Be sure and not overwater.
