I have a "mother-in law tongue" plant that has "blooms" in the center

they are tall, almost as tall as the plant itself, the Blooms are frilly looking as they open. is this really Blooming, or something else?

I've had one for years and it blooms about every two months...Really pretty delicate blooms...
