It is good that you leave your milkweed alone for Monarch butterflies to find. Here is an informative article as to why you may not be seeing any Monarch's. https://www.nbcnews.com/science/environment/monarch-butterflies-face-danger-quasi-extinction-hope-wing-n556316
Depends on where you live --unfortunately monarchs are much less prevelant than they used to be ... due to habitat loss and herbicides decreasing the wild milkweed https://www.monarch-butterfly.com/ and this migration map may help https://www.learner.org/jnorth/maps/monarch_spring2018.html
Yiu may not have the right type of milkweed. Contact Save Our Monarchs or Live Monarch Foundation. They request a donation, well worth it. LMF will send free seeds if you send a SASE - self addressed stamped envelope, however they are small and each order is chosen for your area/region, then packed and shipped by hand. Please donate if you can! Both sites have info on raising Monarchs. I have a friend who does this and post the videos on Facebook, they are amazing!
Butterflies love yogurt! I use a small saucer type bird feeder, in the shade, all natural yogurt, plain. They fight over it!
you need more than milkweed to attract butterflies.....Salvia,coneflower,butterfly bushes, phlox among just a few
