I love wisteria. Years ago I had one and I kept winding Vine around and around and ended up with a beautiful bush. Wisteria will take over everything around it unless you keep it under control.

We have been fighting an out of control Wisteria vine for years. My Grandma planted it and it went wild with no trimming for over 30 years. I would reconsider planting Wisteria. Try something a little less invasive.

They are an invasive but beautiful plant. Just be careful do not plant near home cause the can grow under side. Just keep it in check

Well yes. Don't DON'T plant them near anything you don't want them to take over. Do not plant them near your home. They will eat the mortar out of your bricks and will creep up under any vinyl on your home. They can cause your homeowners insurance policy to be cancelled. They will climb and creep and kill host trees and shrubs so be careful where you plant it. If you want some, come get it outta the trees in my yard! You're welcome to it if you can reach it.

I love wisteria but they do require some diligent maintenance. Wisteria looks beautiful climbing up an arbor. However, you should check it often (approx every 2 weeks) so that it doesn't get out of control. If you keep the vines trimmed, the result is a more bushy plant. The vines can take over if not maintained. Best of luck to you.

Yes and no, it is a very beautiful vine, it is very ambitious when it comes to climbing and taking over structures. It will keep you busy with frequent trimmings and pruning. If you have the time and energy to maintain this vine effectively, then it is for you.
