You have to click on the picture first, which opens it; then the question under the picture shows on the screen.

Irene is asking what type of plant is it, and what to do with it.

She has posted the question twice. The same question with a picture of the same plant has been posted separately.

Hello. This looks like a Mum. They die back in the winter with seasonal weather changes.

Typically these colorful plants are planted in the fall. Many times they do not come back. If you are in a gentler planting zone - it could return to life. Can be called a finicky perennial— good luck with your plant. Here’s a link that might be helpful.

Although winter time is generally a dormant season , the plant does not look healthy.

When was the last time that all the old fallen leaves and dead detritus underneath the bush was thoroughly cleaned out?

The accumulation of dead leaves underneath the plant may be preventing water from penetrating down into the roots.

When was the last time that a suitable fertilizer was applied to the ground, and the top soil replenished?

As the soil looks rocky, it may not contain enough natural nutrients anymore to support this type of plant.

I'd cut it way back and see what comes back in the spring

I would cut it back too. But you can use the app plant snap to ID it and look it up on how to take care of it.

Hi! It looks like my mum's after the first freeze. You can cut it back now or leave it until spring when you will see new green sprouts. It is dormant right now. Good luck and stay safe!

First of all, thank you for the picture. Pictures make our job easier. That looks like a Mum to me. I would cut it way back to just a couple inches. Then cover it with mulch for the rest of the winter. You should see new growth in the Spring. Good luck Irene.

Hi Igbustos, that looks like a Chrysanthemums (often referred to as a Mums). You can cut her down quite hard (about 2" or 5 cm off the ground). Add some mulch and she'll be sprouting new growth as soon as it warms up in Spring and you'll have a whole bush of beautiful flowers again in the Autumn.

I would remove it or trim back (February is probably the best time). If it comes back, fine - if not, remove it then.
