Hi. It needs more darkness and a cooler temp to start to bloom - a couple of months of this, so if you start now, it will bloom in late Jan. or Feb. Happy gardening! How To Make A Christmas Cactus Bloom - Gardening Know How
Is the pot too big so it's just growing roots? Is it in a east window or something else? What temp is it kept at? 65 to 75 is best with little colder nights. Is it in a humid area or is your location dry? It needs some humidity. Have you use fertilizer to feed it? WHat type of watering schedule are you using? Your probably over watering if you didn't get blooms.
Hi Janerose,
The problem may be that it's getting too much light. Christmas cactus does best when it's in a dark room during the evening. This time of year, when it's dark outside, the plant should be put in a dark area. It needs about 12 hours of darkness in order to bloom. This time of year when you turn on lights in a room, it confuses the plant. You might even be able to put it temporarily in a closet as soon as it gets dark outside. Once it starts to bloom, it's okay to leave it out.
It also likes to be a bit root bound so don't put it in a larger pot. I water mine weekly until the water runs out from the bottom. Then I let it drain before putting it back on the stand. Then let it wait a week before watering it again. I hope these little tips help you. Wishing you the best.
