Any bees about?
Good Morning :) I am sorry to hear about the pepepr plants and I am inclined to say too much nitrogen in the soil. I do know that when buds appear and then drop before blooming it is usually NOT the fault of the gardener, but of environmental conditions. Knowing that fact doesn't make ME feel any better though when something in my own garden fails to produce and my hopes and expectations are dashed. I know, also, that pepper plants need at least 6 solid hours of sun every day, but not a lot of high temperatures (like in the upper 80s and 90s will make for a very unhappy plant) otherwise they should be moved to a sunnier place. Are yours in pots or ground planted? Have you fertilized them? In my area (northwest Ohio) my Aunt swore by Epsom salt and ALWAYS mixed a bit of it with the soil around her nightshade plants (peppers, tomatoes, white potatoes, eggplant, etc.) and she always had gorgeous plants. Perhaps you could try that. I wish I could be of more help to you. I have a good idea of how disheartened you must feel (been there myself too many times to count). Good Luck; thanks for using Hometalk :)
