This is the mature blossom.
I found others around my property and tried to transplant them, however all I found was the stem. Presuming that I'd cut the stem off the bulb I tossed it aside, and it bloomed anyway. so I replaced it in the ground .... And this is what I got...

This came up in my garden I have no idea what it is. Any ideas?
I couldn't find a bulb either, it was just a finger width white stalk with a delicate flower on the end. Bloom lasted about a week.

To me it looks like some type of Crocus. Their bulbs can be really small, so maybe you just didn't find it? Not totally sure though.

Autumn crocus, they bloom in OR in the fall and they are planted as bulbs, like spring blooming crocuses.

Its a crocus. Comes in very early spring. Usually the first flowering plant. They come in a variety of colors.

I agree that it's an autumn crocus. They have big long green leaves at first and they die down and then come autumn, big flowers show up. I hate the in-between tho. They have huge flowers compared to the regular crocus.

I believe it is a crocus. I buy bulbs about 6 weeks before christmas and plant them in a pot. They are about to open at christmas and I give them for gifts.

Yes, a crocus. Just FYI, there is an app for your phone called "Like That Garden" that is really helpful. You open the app, take a picture and it searches and finds the flower and gives you the name. I LOVE this app.

I try to grow these and other bulbs. They tell me I need to plant them in 1/4" wire cloth to keep mice, from t\eating them.

Looks like an Autumn Crocus, not a true crocus, but related to the lily family. Common name is naked lady because it blooms after the leaves have disappeared. Beautiful, but all parts are highly toxic to cats and dogs.

Thanks guy's and I do have pets too, I'll keep my eyes on them.. They are everywhere too, I'm not sure if they were planted before I got here or what. They are so pretty I'd like to keep them going... They remind me of water lilies on land, lol
