It is called herb Robert or stinkyBob. The botanical name is Geranium robertianum. Herb Robert is both awinter and a spring annual or bienennial. It is a low growing plant that ishairy and shallowly rooted. Plants have a pungent odor when crushed. HerbRobert reproduces by seeds. The seeds are ejected in response to drying of thecapsule. Reports indicate that they may be ejected as far as 15 to 20 feet fromthe mother plant. Herb Robert is fairly easy to hand pull. Herbicide is alsogenerally effective. Herb Robert has a very shallow, weak root system whichmakes hand pulling easy. Mowing also keeps it under control if done early inthe season. Good luck!

I have Herb Robert here in the UK but its leaves are much smaller and it pulls out easily. Definitely a geranium but couldn't say what.

I just confine it to a spot at the edge of the woods, one of the advantages of living in the woods. I simply ull it when it comes up where it is not wanted
