Hi fellow HomeTalkers!!! A friend moved into her home and the yard was already landscaped. She had these small Elephant Ears that hadn't started to grow just yet so, she asked if I'd like to take them. Of course I did. Now they've been sitting in a large bucket of water so the roots wouldn't dry out. But what/where is rhe best location to plant them?? Full/Partical sun . Thanks for your answers guys...

Place them in potting soil ,and pace them in shade.Keep moist but do-not over water.

  • Depending on where you live - elephant ears are bulbs that have to be dug up in the fall in the northern states - otherwise, just plant them where they have room to spread their beautiful large leaves . they are a great fill in plant.

They are great plants, but they will spread if not contained well. Maybe use a very large container to plant them in on your patio or in your yard that keeps them from spreading. You don't have to dig up bulbs depending where you live. Look it up on Google on the computer for your area.

Thank you for answers I'm in Tennessee . The last few winters have been pretty mild here and the summers are brutal!! I've always loved Elephant Ears but thought they would be too much trouble to deal with. My yard has plenty of places to places these plants. They are already growing just sitting in this bucket of water. I have about 25-30 pieces of the plants with long established roots... The previous homeowners told her they planted them about 15 yrs ago and theses are just the babies off of the adults.... I think i got too many... Lol... Thanks for everyones help...
