This pretty bush grows every year- anyone know what its called?

Looks similar to both lemon balm and bee balm, but not sure from the photo.

Yes it's nickname is the butterfly bush.

Actually, it is a gold mound spirea.

The butterfly bush is the common name for the buddleia. The photo is a spirea. There are multiple varieties of spirea, all grow well in sun and tolerate hot climates (here in FL) and cold winters as well. Deer don't eat them.

I'm going to go with the votes for "Spirea" - as I just pruned/trimmed about 6 of them yesterday myself! They get very "low density" at this time of the spring with the pink flowers on top; I trim them/tighten them up about 2-3 times every year between May and September.

Definitely spirea.
