What are the long stems on this plant?

It looks like a Broad Leaf (or Blunt Leaf) Peperomia [Peperomia Obtusifolia] and I believe those "stems" are the flowers.

That is peperomia which does produce stems like you are stating.It is the natural growth pattern and will eventually produce more growth or a flower depending on which specific variety as there are many

I have the same kind of plant or similar, one day those long stem things, sprouted pink flowerets, to my surprise. I saved this plant year's ago when it was in a sale basket at the grocery store, it has been an amazing plant all these year's.

Looks like an orchid to me. The tall stems are what is left after the blooms fall off. If you leave them alone, sometimes the orchid reblooms.

I can not see any stems either - perhaps another photo with your plant against a plain wall (or similar) might give us some idea of what you are referring to. If they are new shoots then I would assume that you are going to get some flower or more leaves but without knowing what the plant is and not being able to see anything unfortunately all we can do is predict. I can say the plant looks nice and healthy. Why don't you leave the stalks and wait for the surprise.

Lousy picture, but it looks like a rubber plant. Shiny green leaves. Do the stems have pollen on them? I just cut them off, and it will keep growing. It is a interior plant. I have green and one with yellow leaves. I know them as rubber plants. Best bet is to go to a nursery with it and ask.

This is a type of pepperonia (excuse the spelling). The long "stems" actually are their blooms, whiche means you have a very happy plant! Pepperoni as come in several varieties but they do not have showy flowers. Enjoy your obviously happy plant!
