What is the proper way to remove a partial amount of Silver Mound?

Take a small amount to replant elsewhere in my garden, without killing it. Thank you in advance for your answer.

    Make sure you have a sharpened spade or shovel and cut a clump from one of the edges. Easy!

    I split my Silver Mound Artemesia in the fall by using a sharp spade and splitting the plant and roots. You can the replant the split portion elsewhere in your yard...free plants! Gotta love it!

    Split it with a sharp blade. You can did it out, but I do better just splitting it in the ground. Put your shovel in the middle and step hard! It whould split just fine. I did mine last fall, and though they are smaller than before (even split), they come back so easily and strong.
