What is this? Is it a weed or a type of spinach

Question

I found this growing in my carrot bed this spring, I let it grow but I still haven't figured out what it is. I shared my vegetable garden with my neighbor last season and I know he planted something late last summer. The simple resolution would be to ask him but he moved. Anyone with suggestions would be much appreciated,

It looks more like spinach; however, if it is pigweed, or Aramanth, It can be prepared and eaten like spinach. http://www.ediblewildfood.com/pigweed.aspx

My first thought was that it was spinach. But on closer inspection, it looks like it's growing from a centre shoot - if so, I think it's pigweed.

If you google 'pigweed images', you will see it is NOT pigweed.

It's spinach, it looks nothing at all like pigweed. ;)

Totally not pigweed. There are types of pigweed that grow close to the ground, but the leaves are much, much smaller. Even the ones that grow to be taller have smaller leaves than this. I am highly allergic to pigweed, so I have learned what it looks like!
