Lynn Palmatier on May 18, 2016If you have a local nursery for plants and gardens, it is best to take something like this to an expert to identify. They may be able to identify from a photo, but best to take a sample of the plant. If it is something you might want to keep, it won't hurt to take a clipping with a photo. A lot depends on where it is planted in your yard and your location...Helpful Reply

Denny on May 20, 2016Commonly found in the Appalachian Mtn. in the U.S. They need to winter over. When it gets real cold-below freezing-the leaves will curl. Native are pale pink blossoms and nursery plants are hot pink or purple. They like protection from real cold winds and are commonly found as landscape plants around homes. In hotter areas they like the shady side of homes and love plenty of water.Helpful Reply

Ducky on May 22, 2016Yes, it's a Rhodie. If you plant in the ground......never closer than five feet from a foundation or fence. They are beautiful and once mature, if you do not trim once a year....they can grow huge, like trees. Mine are all next to my foundation.....and it means I can't just remove them. But they are beautiful.Helpful Reply
