What is this plant?

Inetia

I found it in the woods and took home one tiny little sprig which multiplied to this. The heart shaped leaves are about 3 inches across, the tiny white flowers are kind of fuzzy, it spreads by under ground runners and it's deciduous.

The are hundred of plants with heart shaped leaves to guess from. @Me if you like the ground cover, keep it. You can always bring a photo or leaf to a reputable nursery and ask their professional opinion.

@Sue Wise Nugent I found that out the hard way. I thought Creeping Charlie was so cute. I brought a sprig home with me, and I have been sorry ever since.

    What shape were the flowers?

Houttuynia Cordata maybe? Also known as bishop weed, which will overrun if not careful in my experience. http://garden.org/plants/view/124949/Chameleon-Plant-Houttuynia-cordata/

I think it's Wild Ginger and if it is, it makes a wonderful ground cover. I like my ginger patch!

I'm pretty sure it's false lily of the valley or snakeberry (Maianthemum dilatatum), native to the NW.

@Me did the flowers look like this?
    • Inetia Inetia on Jun 01, 2016
Yes, that's what the flower looks like, and an earlier comment from Susie suggested it was false Lily of the Valley, I googled it & I'm happy to say I believe the plant has been identified. Ironically, it's growing along side of my real lily of the valley. Same growing habit I guess, but there are significant differences in the leaves & the flowers as shown in the following photo.

The question & answer service provided here is a very helpful resource. I'd tried to find the identity of his plant before without success. Thank you all.
