You total question isn't visable. But if you meant growing on wood or tree stump. They are polypores which are helping the wood to decay. They need to be removed if the wood is something you want to save.

THose are Dryad Saddles/Pheasant Backs. Delicious! Cut the softer edges and if they are still juicy they are great to saute in butter or add to soup.

When mushrooms occur like that it is because of a fungus.They are not edible.You can spry with a fungicide to remove them

I'm pretty sure that Terri, who said they are pheasant backs is correct. However, if you have any doubts, take the time to find a botanist or an excellent mushroom ID book so you know for sure. They look similar to what I always knew as the edible "wood oysters", however, those usually grow in a Step configuration up the trunk of a tree. If you're thinking of eating them, just make sure, without any doubt that you know the are edible.

Not dangerous at all if you know what they are. Mushrooms are so good in so many ways, just get a book or ask Google (with a photo) and determine what they are before destroying them or eating them....

I read once that you can tell if it is poisonous by cooking them with a silver coin (silver ring would work) so there is a way to tell.
