Where is the best place to put cattleya pots, inside or outside?

It was too much hassle to water, fertilize, inside so I moved the pots outside, morning sun only. One died but one is still thriving, leathery leaves but looks like it will survive. ( We live in the hillside , Santa Monica Mountains, Southern California, Mediterranean weather, cooler than the valley below)

They appreciate hot temperatures during the day (70-80 C) and medium lighting. If they are getting too much lighting their leaves will start developing a purplish color. AN inside eastern facing windowsill is usually best for them. Good luck!
