I have 3 lovely hibiscus, two in pots, one in garden, and they produce lots of buds but most of them fall off. One gets those sticky black things on, which I spray but the other two are OK. I water them regularly and feed them with liquid seasol and they look healthy other than this problem. What am I doing wrong? PLEASE HELP!

That's so frustrating- the problem is that Keeping hibiscus plants too wet can cause root problems which ultimately can lead to a sick-looking plant droppingbuds. Also Pests also can cause hibiscus bud drop. Aphids are small, sucking insects that will cluster on the new growth and buds. They are easy to see and diagnose when they are the problem, and can be controlled with any general-purpose insecticide. I doubt that they are a factor here since you would be seeing them.

Sometimes insects are invisible as spider mites which may be the cause of the stickiness on your leaves. This article will give you any other possibilities and how to treat them. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/hibiscus/hibiscus-flower
