Maybe too much water. Try cutting back until the soil is dry and then give a thorough watering and let drain properly. Do not water until dry again.

How old is the plant and have you fertilized lately ?

I let mine dry out between waterings, they seemed to like that. Mine did better last year when I moved them so they got less afternoon sun.
Tropical or Hardy variety? could be too wet, or too dry between watering, or too much late / hot afternoon sun ...
