What's killing my willow trees?

Our willow trees are dying. They have been on property for many, many years and sit close to our pond. What could be causing them to die after all these years?

Thank you so much for a quick answer! I read a few articles on the cause and will show to my husband. It could be bugs, or it could be galling (a term I'd never heard).

II live inOhio, and there is a worm that gets in willows and other trees killing them. We spent lots on killers you put in ground around tree. Did not work. We had an ice storm that damaged the trees. They looked fine in the spring, but afer that they just went down hill. A professional may may help. This is the same thing that is killing trees in Tennesee. We have been warned not to cut down and taken to other areas because it spreads the worm. We lost 4 good willows. We finally cut them down and burnt them on property. We have clay soil, and we needed the willows.
