Advice on mums that turned brown in your containers_ discard or plant?

You can plant them if your ground is still workable. Next year when they are half way emerged from the ground cut them back,this will make them grow and flower for the proper time

Water well and plant. If it is not a hardy mum and you live in a colder zone it may not come back

If they are dried out then you can trim them a little and plant in ground or live it in a pot if it big

Check the stalk, If there is no green showing when you score it with your fingernail, the plant is most likely dead.

Hello, If they are brown that is the blooms, all's you do pinch them off and more will grow, If you leave them in containers like I do make sure you water them good, and in the Spring I pull them out and roll the roots to losing them then cut off the long ones or cut back then put back in the containers and they will come out every year. I have two that are just as beautiful as they was last year. Hope this has been helpful for you.
