It depends upon the kind... visit your local plant nursery. Talk to them. The "south" covers a few growing zones, different areas and soil types. Your local plant nursery knows what's best for your local area. Please don't use a big box home improvement store as most employees who work in the garden section don't have in depth gardening knowledge.
