that answer is yes, you can take cuttings. dust the cut end with a rooting hormone and plant in dirt. your plant is actually a scented geranium. at one time they were bred to produce oils for perfume.

Rule of thumb, when it comes to dividing plants; if the plant has a single stem, you do not divide but, you can take cuttings. Any other plant with several stems,(hostsa, lambs ear) divide with a sharp utensil (knife) or a sharp spade shovel. Good Luck!!
The plant in question is called a citronella and is part of the geranium family so you can take cuttings or air root it.
