We let the birds put of their pen during the day. A few of them like to scratch the dirt out of some of the flower pots and beds. Is there a safe chicken repellent?
I'm in a condo, and yes it can be done. I buy old tin buckets in antique shops or in yard sales. Make sure to make holes in the bottom for ventilation(most important). Then I get rocks at a garden center, put rocks in bottom, and the dirt. Just buy any tomato plants though the small ones are easier. They are great. I think they require watering every day because of the small size but it's fun to do. Peppers grow well took
yes, you can grow tomatoes in a flower pot ... a LARGE flower pot that holds AT LEAST 5 gallons of soil; a 10 or 20 gallon container would be ideal, however. Here is a link from BONNIE PLANTS to help you:

I grow all my tomatoes and peppers in pots. Just use large ones. This year I'm trying zucchini in a 10 gal tub. Wish me luck.
I myself have tomatoes growing in pots. I have a wagon that I set the pots in an pull it out into the yard but if a storm is coming my husband just pulls it back under shelter. it takes so much less water an this way I know that they
are getting water down to the roots. when he waters he does just till he sees the water running from them as my wagon has holes in the bottom of it
right now we have tomato plants, bell peppers an the squash is in a pretty
big pot with a little wood ladder for it to climb on. right now we are already
eating the tomatoes an everything is looking great. sure has cut down on our water bills that we had in the garden hope this helps you
Yes you can. Use a big one with a tomato cage and tie the plant up to the cage as it grows with old panty hose or cut up t shirts
I would say a larger pot would be best. Definitely keep them in the sunniest window if growing them inside.
The larger the better
Yes you can grow them in flower pots as a matter of fact you can buy them at Sams Club in flower pots. I saw them in the spring there and they were already four feet tall and had several green tomatoes on them
Not a flower pot, but we used to plant tomatoes in bags of soil from the nursery. Just cut an x into the flat side of the bag and poke a few small holes into the other side for drainage. Plant the tomato in the contained soil.
It's not pretty, but if you cover the bag in mulch, it looks okay. Also, no weeding required!
