Do you have a fence line where they would get sun? Perhaps you could put them there. I don't know about if they will produce or not, but they may do better in the ground and you can use the fence to support them. They can get tall and need support, I have some wild along my chain-link and some of the canes can be six feet or more tall. I use the fence line to support them so they don't root themselves in the ground when they bend over.

Production will always be the highest in ground, but you can grow anything in a container if you care for it. Plastic is not a great thing to use for eatables - but it's worth a shot.
I farmed for over 25 years and grew Everything but berries. Another farm wife in the area did those so I stuck with row crops and stone fruits. I did the fruitstand thing for 16 years and made it pretty successful - Good Luck
