Just add them to the soil, raking them in well. https://www.thespruce.com/using-coffee-grounds-in-your-garden-2539864

Yes they can, they help keep the soil loose when worked in.

The "washed" or brewed grounds are of little nutritional value to plants, they are neutral.

The coffee grounds before brewing are an enhancer to acid loving plants.

Find a spot in your garden, toss in coffee grinds, egg shells, potato scraps, celery ends, hulls, cucumber, etc all green keep turning the dirt over it when spring come till it around with the tiller, instant fertilizer, you can even throw fish scraps in they add great nutrient's.

If you want you can shave the bottoms off your lettuce and celery and stick them in dirt they will regrow forever, eat and be healthy!
