How to beautify barrels?

I am cutting 55 gallon drums in half to plant dwarf fruit trees. I would like ides of ways to make them a little more attractive yet still survive the weather.

    you can paint the plastic barrels.

    Put solar lights facing up at them, pretty at night

    Use outdoor stain on them

    I would paint them to go with other pots you have and even decorate them if you want to.

    You could paint any type of design on them. They don't have to be solid colored.

    You could paint them a pretty color like turquoise or yellow - you could even stencil a pretty design. Just be sure to use paint that's meant for metal and outdoors. Have fun!

    1. Wrap them with large gauge rope. Glue the rope to the barrel with contractor's glue and weave light gauge wire up 3 or 4 sides to make sure the rope is tight together. Spray paint the rope or leave it. Use polyurethane to seal,
    2. Wrap tightly with chicken wire then smear with light-weight cement. Use a mixture of 1 part concrete, 1 part perlite and 1 part peat moss to water to make a cake batter consistency. Cover with large pc. of plastic for at least 2 - 3 weeks. Paint or leave cement color.
