Durable material to replace rotting timber to sides of raised beds?

We have a raised sitting area in our back garden. As we are new owners and pensioners to boot, what is the best replacement material we could used against the sides of our raised beds. It has to be affordable and not too difficult for a 77 person to replace these timber. This is an area of about 40 meters.
