Get some colored pots at the store, or pick up pots at a resale store and spray paint them. I did one from a resale store and first painted it all white. Then I took masking tape and taped sections off and then the sections that were not taped I painted black (couple coats). Then the top rim and bottom rim I painted bright yellow. So it has a somewhat harlequin pattern to it. You can be very creative and let your imagination be your guide.

Take old clay pots, dip them in something filled with water and old finger nail polishes for a really cool design.

Old rubber boots, thrift store items in a collection such as cheap watering cans you can spray paint depending on your overall theme. Muted white shabby chic for a fantasy romantic look or brightly colored for a fun and funky look. Old chairs are great and you can cut a hole in the seat and place a planter of climbing plants or bright flowers . Old children's toys are fun such as wagons and old bikes spray painted entirely one color. Old funky lamp parts glued together with cute plates to make bird feeders or baths.
