How can I grow grass in a shaded yard and sandy soil. The area where we need grass is sloped. When it rains it all washed away😩.

Have you tried sod?
You need to amend the sandy soil with topsoil, peat moss, and compost. Rototill or dig it in. Then you can seed or sod.
Hire a professional landscaper. There are lots of things you can do, like terracing the area. It's tricky gardening on a slope, but it can be done, but takes a bit of elbow grease and effort.
Hi Nancy. The easiest way is to lay sod. On the top row, and the bottom row, use 6-8 inch earth staples to pin the sod in place. 2 or 3 per piece should hold it until it takes root in a few weeks.

If the area is sufficiently sloped, is it worth planting grass there? I ask because mowing there may become problemmatic, over the years.
There are any number of ground covers to deal with shady slopes, which will afford significantly less maintenance.
If you wish to plant grass on a slope, sod or hydroseeding may be your options. You'll need a seed specific to your growing zone that will survive shade and slope (faster water runoff could be another problem with the grass growth, in the future).
Sods are not all good for sandy soil. Tilling and hydro seed may be the way and mixing grass types
