How can I remove excessive water from my lawn?

Besides installing a French Drain is there another method or type of plants/trees that will soak up excess water from the corner of my backyard lawn?

Willows love water.
Willows are also very bad trees to plant near homes as they can tear up anything in their way because the roots grow wildly ! I would think building tha area up maybe with some pebble then more dirt to level out or redirect water in another direction.
I agree with Ajohnsonfamily. Many do not know what they are getting into with a Willow. Many trees work only temporarily as a Drainage Solution. By temporary I mean: 5 to 12 years. Almost always there is a much larger erosion or sinkage problem that is causing the Drainage Problem in the first place.
Furthermore, if you are planting a tree, you may as well get a fruit or nut tree rather than a: Big Mess Tree which any Willow or Maple is.
