yes, it needs lined. If you can find some coir to line it with...go with that. Other wise a piece of a scrap fabric, or a short stack of coffee filters.Helpful Reply -

Line with landscaping fabric or line with coffee filters. There are better pots for this project. This container will dry out very fast.Helpful Reply -
