How do I cut a smallish tree piece into 1 inch thick rounds?

I have a piece of a tree that is heart shaped (about 10 inches across the face) and I want to make signs with it. I need pieces that are about 1inch thick. I don’t have a lot plus I can’t figure out how to make the pieces consistent. A chainsaw will eat too much wood and how do I hold it to keep the pieces flat?

Hi Trish, I have seen people do it using a band saw. I have never done it personally...I'm not a power tool kind of girl, but here's a post that explains it. https://createandbabble.com/cut-wood-slices/ Hope it helps!
Advertise locally for someone with carpentry tools like the miter saw, etc to do it for you cheaply
Yes, look on your local neiborhoods site. I'm sure a handy man service could help. If not home depot have lists of handyman.
Do you have a vocational school near you? If they have a wood shop, they might do it for you.
