How do I keep a container watered while on vacation ?

Some of my containers are raised. Some are on cement. Some have the ground in direct contact.

    You can either fill a plastic bottle with water and place it upside down in the soil or you can use a piece of string and a plastic bottle. Dip one end of the string inside a bottle filled with water and the other end in the soil of the planter. Just make sure the string is NOT water resistant

    fill a wine bottle with water and place upside down in dirt. repeat as many times as you need. OR find a neighborhood kid and pay them a small amount to come water.

    It will be a chore, but consider moving all of them to the shade while you are gone. Use tubs, buckets, storage bins, or anything else you can think of and put a couple inches of water in those containers and then set your containers in the water. The plants will take up water as they need it while you are away.
