Hi Betty, what a great idea for repurposing that aquarium. You'll want to put some rocks on the very bottom for drainage. Add about 2 1/2 inches of soil next. You can plant a lot of different things but succulents are a great one. Keep in mind when picking out plants where your aquarium will be - direct sun, partial, etc - that will help you pick your plants as well. Water your plants as you would with any plant. Place a cover on top. This will help keep the moisture inside your aquarium. As the water collects on the top it'll "rain" back onto the plants. Check on your plants in the beginning frequently so you'll know how often you need to add a water.

I've had good luck with low maintenance things like moss and succulents, and I've also put pothos in terrariums before... that stuff grows anywhere!
