What is the best method for killing grass around trees?
Hi, I would like to know how to kill the grass around the base of a tree without harming the tree itself. Any information is greatly appreciated, thank you.
I use micronutrients sprayed once a week year round. Mix in a spray bottle and spray all the leaves. I also do this for non-evergreens like hostas and purple heart to keep them healthy.
In the spring and fall I buy evergreen plant spikes.
Normally, one does not fertilize in the winter time. Think about doing something in the Spring to give the trees a boost.
depends on your climate; but feeding a 'dormant' plant is pretty much wasted product/effort. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/soil-fertilizers/best-times-to-apply-fertilizer.htm
Hi, I never feed my plants in the winter.........
Where do you live? Typically feeding is done during the growing season, not during dormancy periods.
Use evergreen feeder spikes in the Fall, if absolutely needed after the first year of planting. Otherwise, if adequately watered and mulched, they should not require further feeding unless they show evidence of stress.
