I reuse it in the pot for the 2nd season, then it goes into my compost pile - if you don't have a compost pile - just wait until fall and top dress your garden or landscape plants with it.
You can re-use it in the bottom of the pots for fill and top with fresh soil
I've never heard how many times you can reuse the potting soil. I for one have never changed the soil in my pots. I have added to it but never threw it away. I am of the belief that if you feed your plants consistently, which I do, then there's no reason to change it.
I would only just potting soil once in a pot. Then in the Spring I would spread it over a portion of your lawn that needs dressing. Best to mix in a small amount nitrogenous fertiliser before the spreading.Answer this Hometalker's question!
