Hi Bonnie, I'm not a fan of miracle grow. The plants seem to go into withdrawals when it is stopped. I prefer fish emulsion with a 1/8 cup to 1 gallon water every other week. It's natural and plants love it (just hold your nose when mixing). Happy gardening!
Hi Bonnie, great question but it does depend on what area you are in, what types of plants and also the temperature as well as how strong you mix the Miracle Gro. I've included a link here right from the company that will provide you some guidance. I hope it is helpful and answers your question.

FYI...I water a couple of my outdoor plants with a very weak solution of Miracle Gro daily during the heat of AZ summers. They are thriving while all around me is desert landscape.
I use it every two weeks .haven't noticed any problem with my plants .have used it for years . Maybe different locations or weather. .I use it on my house plants also .
Bud and Bloom is another granular fertilizer that plants love, but must be applied by hand. If you mulch the top of your pots, it should reduce their water needs.
Hi, just add it to your watering regime once per week
You can do it either way that the directions state, less frequently with the stronger solution, or more frequently with the more diluted solution. It is you choice as to which way you use it. When I used the water soluble years ago on my veggie garden, I saved up gallon jugs and mixed in the diluted one and used it every time I watered the soil and my garden loved it. I watered it with that, then gave them all additional water with the hose to dust everything off in the evening when the evening sun would dry off the leaves before sundown. I use the slow release version on my outdoor plants now, much easier than mixing all the time. I have an awful lot of plants in large pots and lugging the water gets hard on the back. I hope this helps you, Bonnie!
I apply it every 2 weeks.
Every couple of weeks should be enough.
