If you want castings from the worms - sometimes called black gold - I don't think you want to use earth worms. You need composting worms. You can purchase them online. The most popular are red wriggler and tiger worms. I would let the earth worms go (or take them fishing) and order composting worms. There are some excellent videos-how to on UTube. Certain things you shouldn't put in thecompost and how to maintain the bin. I love my worms and separating them from the compost to put on my garden is very Zen (to me, anyway). Good luck!
