I’ve always used pop bottles for rooting vine type plants. Petunias grow well in bottles, too. As for a real terrarium, use clear bottles with soil in the bottom, stems with established roots that reach the soil, and perhaps some moss to keep the soil moist after you add a little water and capped the bottle.
