Where do you live? What zone are you in? I am in Zone 9 and my old tree did not require much attention. It was an in ground tree. If potted and you live in a snow location, bring indoors and place in the sunniest west or south facing window.

i live in northern Alabama!

If you're worried about it, maybe put a small beach umbrella over it ? I just throw a sheet over mine if I worry about frost or snow.
