If the temperature is hot outside, hot glue will not stay firm. If you can salvage it, check out HD or Lowes for glue that will withstand heat. Epoxy would be your best bet. Good luck!
you need a outdoor epoxy
I made all my stuff with a hot glue gun aswell, the trick when making things with hot glue is twine! Even though things are glued together it also needs to be tied if you're using hot glue. If you don't want to tie them then you need to switch out your glue for something meant to hold in the elements :)
thank you however I don’t understand how to use twine to hold legs onto tables and chairs
Thank you so much, I don’t want to have to repair a third time lol takes a lot of work to make everything. Next time I will know how to glue properly the first time around. 😄
Super glue since your concerned about E6000 odor. Used gel super glue for my "mock" bird house for my wreath.
i will give that a try , I now have a shelf of glues that did not work 😬 what type of varnish is good? I used spray can varnish but wonder just how much was really coating all my furniture. I made 13 fairy gardens a different theme for each and made my stuff for them. Hours on end every night for over a month so to have it all fall apart is so discouraging
So sorry to hear that Michelle. We make lots of fairy gardens and never use hot glue. It's not strong enough to withstand the elements and it leaves these awful glue blotches. An exterior super glue with a fine application tip works best.
