My fig tree is blooming leaves on the bottom of tree, bare at the top.

My fig tree is bare at the top of the branch and full, with leaves, at the bottom.

I have never seen this happen previously. Should I cut the tops back or leave

it alone and see what happens?

You don't indicate what growing zone you're in, or the type of Fig tree. In zone 6, our fig died back each winter, then sprouted new growth from the base, each year. The fig should have been brought in each winter, but it wasn't practical. We no longer are growing fig trees.

It’s zone 7a. We don’t take it in ever it’s in our garden. It has deep purple figs, not white. Always delicious.
