Removing garden mesh sheeting coming up through ground?

I have mesh garden sheeting that’s coming up in large areas of my planting area should I just rip it up and start over even though there are plants in area or should I just cut what’s popped up through ground and work around it or what ?

Could it be you need to add good soil to your garden? You could just put it back down and cover it, but check first to see if perhaps it is breaking down first. It does need to be replaced after a while, more frequently if you used the thinner cheaper fabric.

Cut X's where you want to plant the new plants, then you can dif the holes you need to put them in the ground. If you are going to add soil to the garden, do that first, so that you don't end up having too much soil around the new plants or the roses. Good luck with your new plants.

I would just rip out what you can see and then mulch to about 3".

you do not have to rip it upper-cover with heavy landscape fabric

It sounds like you have a plant trying to sprout through the sheeting. Feel around on the area that concerns you to determine if there is a plant trying to break through. If so, find it's exact location, lift the sheeting and cut an "X" mark so the plant can come through to sunlight. Keep in mind, it could be a weed, hence the need for the sheeting.

If you can dig up some dirt where the rips are, then put more mesh right on top, then throw the dirt back on, then whatever ground cover you have on the rest, you should be okay for another season. ☺️

There might have been a reason for putting the wire there? Rabbits or burrowing animals.........?
