Should we plant Pompas Grass where our Pine 🌲 s was removed?

Our Pine 🌲s had Pine Beetles,we had 3 🌲s removed. Gap between our home & neighbor’s. We were thinking Pompas grass is quick growing & would offer a buffer zone. Here is a picture of the yard. We bought 2 Pink Pompas yesterday. Have not planted them yet. Anyone ? Thanks.

So sorry you lost those trees. You can put in the grass, but it's a bear to keep looking nice if you're not diligent about cutting it down in the winter. Check with the local agricultural extension service and see what grows fast and will look good year round and not be subject to loss due to insects, etc. Good luck.

If Pompas grass grows in your zone, it's a good choice. (Be careful... the leaves are sharp!)

It depends what region you are in and whether or not you get full sun at this spot. I would take this photo to a local nursery and ask their opinion. They only stock what grows well in your area and may suggest something else that would be awesome there.

I think that would be pretty! Since you already have them, you can give it a try. Be aware of the spacing for when they are fully grown so they don’t look crowded.
