Clean out any debris,and next season add fresh soil
Remove the dead plants. Add compost and some new top soil next spring - mixing in with the old soi8l.
I just clean the beds, cover with dead leaves making sure I haven't raked up any weeds or grass with the leaves and then in the spring work the leaves into the bed. Works great.
