Anything with spikes or thorns if you're looking for safety. Spanish bayonet comes to mind, part of the Yucca family. Grown for its foliage, comes in a few different colorsut plenty of thorns. Unless you want it to get really big, keep it in a large pot. Because of its growth pattern, not suitable for near sidewalks or sprinkler pipes, etc
