cone flowers and beebalm are excellent plants for attracting humming birds and gold finches. They come in great colors.

Hummingbirds love the color red! Try a red/pink honeysuckle plant or red geraniums. Although red monarda is a perennial, you can still plant them in a large planter. They get about 3 1/2 feet tall but hummingbirds LOVE them! Before Winter strikes, put them in a garage or basement, and next Spring, they'll start to come back to delight you once again.
Lantana are great for attracting hummingbirds, butterflies and bees. Each bloom has at least 20 little tiny flowers. They come in various shades of yellow, pink, and orange.
Cypress vine is very pretty. Ferny foliage and small scarlet trumpet flowers. It will cover a wire form in a pot or even cover railings, etc.
